GEMS X VidCon FILM COMPETITION

We are pleased to partner with VidCon to create an amazing opportunity for our students to participate in a film making competition. The aim of the competition is to test our students creativity, collaboration/teamwork, global awareness and showcase their film work at VidCon Abu Dhabi 2020 taking place during March 25-28, 2020. The competition learning journey will include digital media workshops.
VidCon is the world’s largest celebration of online digital media and content and a collection for fans, content creators, executives and brands who are passionate about online video and building diverse communities. The event involves stage shows, Q&A’s, meet & greets, panels, workshops with international content creators, music and more

Introductory materials here.
Film Focus/Theme: “How to make the world a better place”
Duration & Age Entry: 3 minutes or less, Ages 13+
Workshop Date(s): 2nd week of March. One day each in Dubai and Abu Dhabi (same workshops).
Workshop Focus:
- Introduction to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);
- Story telling/story boarding;
- Using cameras and lighting;
- Post production and editing;
- Channels (i.e. YouTube)
Film Submission Date: 16th March 2020
Winners’ Announcement: 19th March 2020
Prizes
- The winning video will be showcased at Vidcon, in addition to another TBC prize.
- First three teams will get Creator Track tickets to Vidcon (Thursday);
- Additional shortlisted teams will get Community Track tickets to Vidcon (Friday-Saturday);
- We will also have 4 Industry Track tickets for interested teachers. (Wednesday);
