Welcome to the eighth edition of our International Guidance Counsellor Newsletter!
With 2020 now in full swing, we thought we’d update you with what we’ve got planned for the months ahead, both here in Cambridge and overseas. Read on for details of our Spring schedule, which takes us to ten countries across three continents, plus an immersive summer programme for prospective university applicants. Spotlight on… Law
Do you know students who are thinking about studying Law? If so, you may wish to point them in the direction of Think Cambridge Law, a blog run by our Faculty of Law. It regularly publishes articles on a range of useful and interesting topics, such as application tips, ‘days in the life’ of Cambridge Law students, and alumni profiles. Lucy Cavendish College – Essay & Design Prizes
Lucy Cavendish College has launched three Essay & Design Prizes in Engineering and Design, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, and Contemporary Issues. The competitions are open to students in Year 12/Grade 11 (or equivalent), and the deadline for submitting entries is midnight on Monday 6 April.

Pre-University Programme 2020
The University of Cambridge International Summer Programmes team is delighted to announce an expanded Pre-University Programme for 2020.
Designed for current high school students who will be graduating in 2020 or 2021, the Pre-University Programme provides an opportunity for academically ambitious students to prepare for undergraduate study at leading global universities. This year’s theme is Visions of the Future.
The programme will run from Sunday 5 to Saturday 18 July (Term 1) and Sunday 19 July to Saturday 1 August (Term 2). Please note that students can only apply for one term. Applications are currently open, with limited numbers per term and a per-country cap to ensure that around 15-20 nationalities are represented. Applications will close on Sunday 17th May.

Cambridge Open Days

Our Cambridge Open Days are a fantastic way for prospective applicants to explore the University and Colleges, meet current staff and students, and get a feel for the city.
International students in Year 10/Grade 9 (or equivalent) and above are very welcome to attend. Advance booking is essential, and will open via our webpage in April.
